Photo 1 Career Project Requirements 

Step 1: Initial Contact with Your Professional

  1. Compose a professional letter. 
  2. Choose at least five professionals.
  3. Send your letter to those professionals by EMAIL. Make sure to customize the letter to each. DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION (except for email and name).
  4. Wait for a response. If you do not get a response tomorrow, send more letters. 
  • If you do not get a response the day after that, send more letters. 
  • If you do not get a response the day after that, send more letters. 
  • If you do not get a response the day after that, send more letters. .
  • If you do not get a response the day after that, send more letters. 
  • If you do not get a response the day after that, send more letters. 
  • If you do not get a response the day after that, send more letters. 
  • If you do not get a response the day after that, send more letters. 
  • If you do not get a response the day after that, send more letters.

Step 2: Checking Your Letters In

  1. Check your response letter/email in with your instructor.
  2. Your response letter is due Friday 1/23.
  3. If you do not have a response by Friday, check it in after Friday for late points.
  4. These are assessment points.

Step 3: PhotoCheck

  1. Once you have your response, analyze and review that professional's work.
  2. Like the Master's Project, you will be copying this professional's style and subject (an homage).
  3. Take 20 pictures inspired by the professional.
  4. Check these in with your instructor. They are due Tues 1/27.

Step 4: Photo Project

  1. Choose your best 10 photos.
  2. Edit these to the best of your ability.
  3. Build a mini-portfolio of this work. Use a PowerPoint to compile your images.
  4. Place your images best first, weakest in the middle, second best at the end. 
  5. Complete a Self-Evaluation. Post your PowerPoint to your Blog.
  6. This is due Tues 2/3.

Step 5: Professional Review

  1. Send a follow up email to your professional. Attach your PPT Portfolio to the email.
  2. In the body of the email add your Blog URL address.
  3. You need a second response from your professional with feedback. 
  4. You will also be graded on this second email.
  5. You will need a follow up email by 2/6.
